Donaghmore Gaelic Tournament - Boys

3rd Jun 2026

Well done to the P7 boys who secured top spot in Donaghmore today,  which was played out in horrible conditions! In total, there were eight teams present at this twelve aside competition.
In the group stages, the boys secured wins over Kingsisland, Donaghmore and Carrickmore B, guaranteeing them a semi-final cup place against Galbally.
The semi-final proved to be a very tight affair, with both teams tied at the final whistle. At this point the referee invoked the 'Golden Score' rule, thankfully Joey composed himself enough to land the winning point, from a free kick. Well done!

The final against Carrickmore was a more hotly contested affair, with both teams only having played each other  five days ago. Carrickmore were in the lead for the majority of the match and indeed controlled much of  the play, however, with only 20 seconds remaining, Nevan found the back of the net, to stun the Carrickmore boys. A great move!

Well done to the whole team, with each and every player contributing to the victory in their own way.
