Ditch The Dark Day!

20th Nov 2025

A huge thank you to all the children who braved the snowy conditions today for our 'Ditch the Dark Day' walk to school! Your enthusiasm made the event a massive success.

We were delighted to welcome our Sustrans Officer, Amy, who led a fantastic assembly on the crucial message of "Be Safe, Be Seen!" Special thanks to her two colour volunteers, Shea and Lucy, who visually showed our entire school the importance of wearing brightly coloured clothes when walking/cycling in Winter!

The importance of sustainable travel and winter visibility was the theme of the day! We were pleased to host Gareth from the Department of Infrastructure, who was highly impressed with our school's commitment to sustainable transport methods.

Amy also ran brilliant workshops with Primary 3 and Primary 4, where the children learned creative ways to increase their visibility in the winter. They even created wonderful art pieces demonstrating the importance of wearing bright clothes and reflectors! Well done, everyone!
