The P6 & P7 boys made the short trip to Caririckmore today to compete in the Cumann na mBunscol outdoor finals at Eire Og Park.
Victories over Gaelscoil Aodha Rua, Roan Eglish and Carrickmore B Team meant that St John’s topped their group and faced Carrickmore A in the semi- final.
In a low scoring affair, St. John’s eventually held out for the victory and progressed to the final. In the Cup Final, St. John’s encountered a well drilled Recarson team but an impressive team performance and some notable individual attacks ensured that the ‘Sky Blues’ were able to withstand the stiff Recarson opposition until the final whistle. For the third year in a row, St. John’s have contested this hurling final and today their talent and tenacity was sufficient for them to claim overall victory and be crowned ‘ Tyrone Champions 2026’, Congratulations!
The boys gave a really good account of themselves today and we are extremely proud of their achievements. Thanks to Mr. Paul Traynor, VP, St. Colm Cille’s Primary School for the invitation and hosting a great event.
