The Indoor Gaelic Squad from St. John’s Moy turned the grey skies over MUSA to ‘Sky Blue’ this afternoon with a resounding overall victory at the Tyrone Gaelic Indoor Finals.
Victories over Glencull, Ardboe and Fintona ensured that the boys topped group one, securing them a semi-final spot against Loughmacrory. This could have been the final in so many ways as the Loughmacrory players fought out an intriguing battle to the final whistle. Thankfully the Moy boys rose to the challenge and produced an array of successful attacks, to book their place in the final against Carrickmore. Moy 4-2 Loughmacrory 1 - 1.
In the final, St. Colmcille’s took an early lead and dominated much of the play. This only appeared to spark St. John’s into life and after some brilliant offensive performances, Moy were suddenly back into the driving seat, which they held on to until the referee’s final whistle. Moy 4 - 3 Carrickmore 3 - 1.
We are all very proud of the boys’ achievement today and the level of sportsmanship displayed at the event.
